Over February half term, me and my family, along with my friend and my brother’s, visited Center Parcs in Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire. We stayed Monday to Friday, in a 3 bedroom Woodland lodge. I have to say, I was very impressed by our accommodation; it was modern, clean and well furnished, and even had a log burner and chalkboard, which my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed writing, drawing and playing noughts and crosses on! The lodge also featured a fab outdoor area, including seating and a brick barbecue, which unfortunately we didn’t get to use due to it being February! Although we did have some trouble with the oven and hob (we waited two hours for our lasagne to warm up!), overall we couldn’t complain!

Of course, when you go to Center Parcs the only included activity is swimming (not counting the obvious bike riding), so of course we made use of this every day (some days we went twice, much to my complaint of having to rewash my hair!), which was very much enjoyed by all members of the party! The ‘Subtropical Swimming Paradise’ features a range of fun things to do, for all ages, such as outdoor rapids (we were black and blue by Friday!), Wave pool, ‘Tornado’ -family raft ride (our favourite!), ‘Twister’ – single ride, ‘Typhoon’ -double/single tube ride, Lazy River (bit too tame for us!) and the pirate style family play area.

Although we did spend much of our time in the water (the swimming pool, not the lake, don’t worry!), we did also do some extra activities to bulk out the days! All together we hired a Katakanu (a kayak for six- imagine the laughs?!) and did Geo-Caching, and I can say we are the champions! My friend and I also did Badminton, which was ideal for that day as it kept us safely out of Storm Doris’ reach! We also went Bowling at the Leisure Bowl on both Tuesday and Wednesday evening – needless to say, I didn’t win!!

Another of our favourites was The Pancake House, which delivered once more! Although it is quite expensive, it seemingly remains popular with all guests, and us! The service was great and the food delicious.

Despite the Great British weather not giving us its best, we all had a fabulous time and were of course extremely sad to leave! Hopefully we will be returning at some time in the foreseeable future! Have you ever been to Center Parcs? What were your favourite activities?

xoxo, Liv
